ORIGINS
THREE GENERATIONS.
ONE WAY OF MAKING PISCO
A CENTURY OF CONTINUITY
Rompe Mar is distilled at Bodega Santa María, a third generation family distillery founded in 1929 in Lunahuaná, Peru.
Nearly a century later, the same lineage still guides the spirit we bottle today.
THE MAN BEHIND THE DISTILLERY
The story began with Don Benedicto Peña, who established the distillery and continued producing at a time when many vineyards were being lost.
He is still remembered riding through the vineyards on horseback, closely watching the vines and the work in the valley.
He also played a role in protecting pisco's heritage, advocating for the inclusion of the rare Uvina grape in the Denomination of Origin.
A LIVING LINEAGE
Today, his grandson José Antonio "Pepe" Espinoza Peña and his wife Giuliana Mancini carry this legacy forward, combining technical precision with methods passed down through three generations.
SHAPED OVER TIME
Rompe Mar is made entirely at the distillery, developed in close collaboration with the family.
It builds on what was already there , refined over time to create a spirit that is clear, precise, and true to its origin.
